Let’s Do All We Can for People in Nepal

The images of loss and destruction in Nepal are overwhelming. Thousands are confirmed dead and many more thousands are injured or homeless.

Will you join your brothers and sisters across the RCA in extending the love of Christ to people in Nepal?

RCA Global Mission is responding to the April 25 earthquake with its partner in international disaster response, World Vision. World Vision is on the ground in Nepal, assessing needs and providing resources to the most devastated areas.

The day after the quake, World Vision teams began distributing shelter materials and blankets for about 1,000 families. In coming days and weeks, World Vision plans to assist 100,000 people with additional supplies, shelter, clean water and sanitation, and child protection, education, and health programs.

Please give today to support relief in Nepal, both short- and long-term. Recovery is certain to take years.

Give online: www.rca.org/nepal.

Give by mail: In the U.S., send checks payable to Reformed Church in America and designated “Nepal Earthquake” to: Reformed Church in America; Attn: Finance Office; 4500 60th St. SE; Grand Rapids, MI 49512. In Canada, send a check, payable to the Regional Synod of Canada, to: Regional Synod of Canada, 201 Paradise Rd. N., Hamilton, ON L8S 3T3. Please note on the check “Nepal Earthquake.”

Please pray:

  • For people who have been injured or displaced or lost loved ones.
  • For healing for injured people, and for their medical workers.
  • For aid workers who are responding to immediate needs.
  • For the quick arrival of basic supplies, like food and water.

God created humans to live in community. Research confirms God's creation. Consider the following:

"All but five of the 263 centenarians interviewed in the original Blue Zones® areas studies belonged to some faith-based community. It . . . matters that you attend regularly and truly feel part of a larger group.
"Research shows that attending faith-based services four times per month will add
4-14 years of life expectancy. If you already belong to a group, great!
If it's been a while or you aren't sure where to start, try asking friends and
neighbors for their suggestions or search for additional information online."
